Alisanne Steele | June 15, 2026 | Wonder Awaits. Seize It.
When Rabbit Hole Sailing began, our goal was simple:
Help people get out on the water.
Some sailors come aboard to spend a beautiful day on San Francisco Bay. Others are refreshing skills, preparing for a future charter, building confidence at the helm, or dreaming about longer passages.
As we met more sailors, one thing became increasingly clear.
Getting on the water is only part of the journey. Many sailors are also looking for a clear path forward.
They want to know where to begin, what to learn next, how to strengthen their skills, and how to work toward recognized sailing certifications.
That is where Pacific Wayfinder Sailing Academy comes in.
A Clear Path Forward
Pacific Wayfinder Sailing Academy is a US Sailing Accredited Keelboat School offering structured sailing education and certification opportunities for new and experienced sailors.
Whether you are stepping aboard for the first time, preparing to charter independently, strengthening your navigation skills, or working toward coastal and offshore passage making, PWSA is being built to help you identify your next step and keep moving forward.
Course offerings include programs such as:
- Basic Keelboat
- Basic Cruising
- Bareboat Cruising
- Navigation
- Coastal Navigation
- Performance Keelboat
- Coastal Passage Making
- Celestial Navigation
- Offshore Passage Making
Some sailors may begin with the fundamentals. Others may enter the program with years of experience and a specific goal in mind.
There is no single starting point that is right for everyone.
The goal is to help each sailor find the course, experience, or certification pathway that fits where they are today and where they hope to go next.
How Rabbit Hole Sailing and PWSA Work Together
Rabbit Hole Sailing and Pacific Wayfinder Sailing Academy are separate but closely connected.
Rabbit Hole Sailing provides charter opportunities and access to SV Rabbit Hole, our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 based in Alameda, California.
Pacific Wayfinder Sailing Academy provides the educational framework, course administration, instructional programming, and US Sailing certification pathway.
Together with our instructors and training partners, we can help sailors move from learning basic skills to putting those skills into practice on the water.
A student may begin with a course, join a skills-development sail, complete a charter checkout, or continue into more advanced navigation and passage-making programs.
The destination will be different for every sailor.
What matters is having a way to keep moving toward it.
