SV Rabbit Hole is a 2021 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 based at Safe Harbor Ballena Isle in Alameda and sailing primarily on San Francisco Bay.

After more than four years of service in US Sailing instruction and charter operations through Club Nautique, SV Rabbit Hole began a new chapter in 2026.

Today, she is operated directly by Rabbit Hole Sailing, LLC, offering a more personal, flexible, and intentional approach to chartering and time on the water.

Our goal is not simply to offer access to a boat. We are building a community of sailors who value seamanship, shared adventure, and thoughtful care of SV Rabbit Hole.

No membership. No initiation fees. Simply assemble your qualified crew, choose your charter, and sail.

Charters & Sailing Experiences

Rabbit Hole Sailing offers several ways to experience San Francisco Bay aboard SV Rabbit Hole.

Bareboat Charters

Qualified sailors may charter SV Rabbit Hole for weekday, weekend, multi-day, and extended sailing experiences.

Every bareboat charter requires a minimum operational crew of three capable sailors:

• Two sailors approved by Rabbit Hole Sailing to charter SV Rabbit Hole
• One supporting sailor with at least US Sailing Basic Cruising certification or equivalent experience

Once the minimum operational crew requirements are met, additional family members, friends, and guests may join the charter.

Maximum persons aboard for bareboat charters: 8

Captained and Instructor-Led Charters

Captained and instructor-led sailing experiences may be available for private outings, vessel familiarization, Check-Out Sail preparation, and focused skill development.

Instruction may include:

• Docking and close-quarters maneuvering
• Sail handling and reefing
• Navigation and passage planning
• Vessel systems and safety procedures
• Crew coordination and seamanship
• Confidence-building aboard larger cruising vessels

Instructor-led charters are designed for skill development and time on the water. Formal US Sailing certification courses are offered separately through Pacific Wayfinder Sailing Academy.

Check-Out Sails

Experienced sailors who need an additional opportunity to demonstrate competency may qualify through a Check-Out Sail aboard SV Rabbit Hole.

A Check-Out Sail combines vessel orientation with an evaluation of docking, sail handling, navigation, safety procedures, seamanship, and operational knowledge.

One or two sailors may be evaluated during the same session.

Summer 2026 Charter Season

The Summer Charter Season runs through August 31, 2026.

Weekday, weekend, multi-day, and seven-day charter options are available, subject to vessel availability and charter approval.
